Monster Kid Radio #011 - Earth vs. The Flying Saucers vs. Scott Morris, Part 1

Week Two of Monster Kid Radio's Ray Harryhausen series continues when guest Scott Morris picks Earth vs. The Flying Saucers (dir. Fred F. Sears). Scott Morris is a podcaster (Disney, Indiana & 1951 Down Place) and longtime "star kid," and took some time away form his Disney duties to talk about this Harryhausen classic, his own introduction to the classic science fiction movies, and how he finds a way to feed his stomach and his love of science fiction at the same time at Walt Disney World. (The B-Movie Cast also just covered Earth vs. The Flying Saucers ths past Sunday with former Monster Kid Radio guest Stephen D. Sullivan, so make sure you go check that out, too!)

This week marks the passing of one of the best horror hosts around. Not only did he have an impact on Scott, but on countless other star and monster kids. Rest In Peace, Sammy Terry.

  1. Amused that you are making excuses for the bad science of EvtFS, as though Independence Day were even slightly more believable. ID4 is simply contemporary, reflecting the ignorance of its time just as EvtFS does for 1956. I find the aliens problems with getting their time rate synched up interesting and figure it relates to their either faster than light or relativistic travel. I hope you guys are going to note the aliens use of drone technology.
