Monster Kid Radio #451 - Stephen D. Sullivan and The Norliss Tapes

The final week of Dancember 2019 sees Derek joined by author Stephen D. Sullivan (Dr. Cushing's Chamber of Horrors, Manos: Talons of Fate, Daikaiju Attack: The Rise of the Goragon, etc.) to explore the mysteries of The Norliss Tapes (dir. Dan Curtis). This 1973 TV movie was originally a pilot for a potential television series, and the fact that it wasn't picked up as a TV show isn't the only horror Steve and Derek discuss this week. Additionally, Derek recognizes three podcasts/podcasting teams for the accomplishments and milestones they've hit this month. Bill Watches Movies' Bill Mize has some feedback about last week's episode, Professor Frenzy has another Bedtime Story, and Kenny has a special look at Famous Monsters of Filmland. Monster Kid Radio #444 - Evil of Dracula with Todd Brown

It took Derek long enough to finally finish Monster Kid Radio's look at Toho's "Bloodthirsty Trilogy," but hopefully it will be worth the wait! The Haunted Cinema's Todd Brown joins the show to discuss 1974's Evil of Dracula (dir. Michio Yamamoto). This recording has been sitting in the MKR vault for months, and we'd normally say something like, "This recording has aged like a fine wine," but we also know that Dracula does not drink . . . wine. Monster Kid Radio #442 - From Beyond the Grave with Dr. Gangrene

This week, Derek checks in with the Physician of Fright, the one and only Dr. Gangrene (aka Larry Underwood) before exploring horrors From Beyond the Grave (dir. Kevin Conner). This 1974 portmanteau film features one of Monster Kid Radio's favorite Peters, and Derek and Larry can't stop gushing about the Cushing. Also, in the grand comic book tradition of crossovers, this week's episode of MKR crosses over with the most recent episode of Disney, Indiana, when Derek chats with DI's Tracey and Scott Morris about two graphic novels combining classic Disney characters with classic horror literature. On MKR, they discuss Disney Dracula, starring Mickey Mouse (and discover a new top-rated take on Van Helsing!).
